The Ready Center Tactical

I found another old email from a friend and thought I’d share it.  If you own a gun, you will appreciate this. If you don’t own a gun, you should get one and learn how to use it.

A: Guns have only two enemies: rust and politicians.

B: Its always better to be judged by 12 than carried by 6.

C: Cops carry guns to protect themselves, not you.

D: Never let someone or something that threatens you get inside arms length.

E: Never say “I’ve got a gun.” If you need to use deadly force, the first sound they hear should be the safety clicking off. (I prefer the sound of a slug being chambered when you cock a shotgun)

F: The average response time of a 911 call is 23 minutes, the response time of a .357 is 1400 feet per second.

G: The most important rule in a gunfight is: Always win – cheat if necessary.

H: If you find yourself in a fair fight, your tactics suck.

J: In a life and death situation, do something . . . It may be wrong, but do something!

K: If you carry a gun, people will call you paranoid. Nonsense! If you have a gun, what do you have to be paranoid about? (I call it being prepared)

L: You can say ‘stop’ or ‘alto’ or any other word, but a large bore muzzle pointed at someone’s head is pretty much a universal language. (more…)

Whats New At The Ready Center

We have another update for you!  And on top of that we want to give a HUGE thanks to all of you in The Ready Center Community for both supporting us and each other!  We are proud to be the central hub and connecting point for so many caring and selfless people.  Anybody can prepare to care for their family and loved ones, but what we appreciate most about this community is the sheer willingness to use your preparations to show care for others when they are down and out.  It has truly left me speechless on more than one occasion.  Thank you for that.

And now for what’s new with THE READY CENTER:

  1. We have added over 100 New Products to our store since our last update and are expanding our product line almost daily!  Check it out!
  2. In addition to using Paypal as your preferred payment option, our store now accepts all major credit cards including American Express.  We hope this make your shopping experience here at The Ready Center that much more enjoyable.
  3. We are well aware that the carrier we were using for shipping was causing a HUGE price increase to the customer.  Well… WE HAVE FIXED IT!!!  We have added an additional carrier which has reduced shipping rates by almost 110% in some cases. (I know, wow!)  Add some items to your cart and get a shipping quote before completing your order.  We are sure you’ll be impressed!
  4. We have also updated the Glossary page on our Blog to include and explain even more terms you may encounter while learning and exploring within the preparedness community.  If you think a certain item, term, saying, or piece of equipment should be included in our Glossary, please forward us the information and we’ll get to it ASAP.
  5. We have also added a “Contact Us” page (click here) so we can better serve you with your individual preparedness concerns and product related questions.
  6. Lastly, we are giving Twitter a try.  If you like to tweet and would like to receive an occasional tweet from The Ready Center, click here to follow us.

Well, that’s all for now.  Please let us know if there is anything else we can do to serve you better!

The Ready Center - Survival Summit

Article Submitted by Brian S. Kiefat @ The Ready Center

Since the 20th of this month there has been a 5 day Survival Summit going on via the internet.  There is a collection of around 25 “experts” that are giving different lectures covering various aspects of preparedness.  Some of the topics include making your own biodiesel legally, identifying edible plants, how to fortify your home on a budget, the correct way to build a Bug Out Bag, how to grow food without irrigation, urban survival, alternative dentistry, the combat mindset, so on and so on.  It is online and completely free.

The Survival Summit website says this collaboration was designed “to be an opportunity for preppers and survivalist to get access to amazing presentations from the industries foremost experts no matter where you live.”

I’ve checked out 2 of the presentations so far.  One was pretty dang good.  I wish I would have taken notes.  The other was a total and complete waste of my time.

There is some very useful information to be gleaned from this, but be prepared to put up with an idiot or two as well.  Check out the promotional video below to learn more.  Sign up and “attend” the summit by following this link.

Let us know what you think.

And as always, MAKE READY!

MT 4 - The Ready Center

Article Submitted by Brian S. Kiefat @ The Ready Center

Fact:  Not all tools are equal.  A wood saw can never be a wrench.  A hammer can never be a screwdriver.  And a needle-nose can never be a hacksaw.  Period.

One of the things we discussed in a previous article (click here) is that nobody wants to carry a whole toolbox worth of tools inside their Survival Kit.  Doing so would 1) be stupid. and 2) add so much weight that it would literally render it unusable if you ever (more…)

The Walking Dead Season 4 - The Ready Center

Article Submitted by Brian S. Kiefat @ The Ready Center

Here at The Ready Center we try to spend more time preparing you, rather than entertaining you.  We hope you appreciate that and find value in the substance that we put forth.  However, every once in a while we do like to drop you reminders of survival, preparedness, and post-apacolyptic tv shows that most (or some) of you would enjoy.  The Walking Dead Season 4 is one of them.

The Walking Dead is the most watched drama in the history of basic cable – and that’s no small feat.  The show follows a group of survivors as they live in a post-apacolyptic world in which a pandemic claimed a great majority of the world’s population causing those who have passed away to rise again and prey on the living.  This drama centers around a man named Rick, a former deputy sheriff, who essentially becomes the group’s leader as they do their best to work together in what seems like a hopeless environment.   Previous seasons have shown the hardships of living in a world void of our loved ones, the danger and trauma involved of fighting off the flesh-eating walking dead, as well as the horrific notion that even the worst attacks can come from those who are still living.

This season promises to build on these platforms by showing us that….  um…. well…. we don’t know.  BUT, we hear it’s going to be pretty dang amazing!  And the video trailer below will give you a taste of what’s in store for this season.

Watch the preview, watch season 4, and tell us what you think.  Enjoy!
